i do not see any reason why people are ashamed of nudity, except due to an ubbringing which inculcates unnatural aversion to sex. it is sad that our natural inclinations are being denied by this hypocritical religion which represses our most normal urges leading to perversion and tragedies like child abuse and broken families. if any offense was taken at that image then it was absolutely irrational and baseless. for one can see the shahadatayn in lung bronchioles, allah in forests and clouds, and various postures of prayer in nature, yet seeing his name on a certain part of the male anatomy is considered shameful and offensive. the chances of it happening are even less than dry leaves forming the same image on the ground, yet its miraculous nature goes unnoticed and is hid beneath the carpet. why? unnatural shame. sad indeed. if you wish i'll apologize for exercising my right to express my opinion and causing you offense in the process. i only wished to raise consciousness about the issue, and show how ridiculous these superstitious beliefs are. -- peace.
well, I think the very idea that this particular leaf formation got any notice was quite silly. It's just leaves. They blow. They form shapes. It's all fine.
As for what anonymous said, I should say I agree with what he says.
The fear of breaking some unwritten, unknown law is just too overbearing on most Maldivians.
Just ask any random person to write Allah in the thaana script. See him/her fidget. Have fun.
Too many superstitions, and false beliefs and religious indoctrination by non-religious people has led to this.
